Fandl
Kevin J. Fandl, J.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Kevin J. Fandl is a federal attorney and Deputy Chief of Staff for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.  He previously worked as Counsel to the Assistant Secretary and Director of the Executive Secretariat for that agency.  He also worked with the U.S. Trade and Development Agency and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.  He is an adjunct law professor at the American University Washington College of Law, Georgetown University Law Center, and George Washington University, teaching courses on international trade and development law, advanced legal writing, and homeland security.  He is also the lead substantive law professor in the Summer Legal English program, offered twice each year to foreign law practitioners and students, and the Course Advisor for the legal English program at the International Law Institute.

 

J. Cameron Verhaal, MBA.

J. Cameron Verhaal is currently completing his PhD in Strategic Management and International Business from the University of Utah.  He holds a B.A. in International Relations from the University of Colorado, an M.A. in Latin American Studies from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, and an M.B.A. in International Management from the University of Arizona.  He has consulted for Mexico’s National Science Foundation (CONACYT) and Center for Optical Research (CIO) on issues related to technology transfer and business discovery.  His professional background includes positions at the Organization of American States, Georgetown University, and Adjunct Professor at the ITESM-Tec de Monterrey in Mexico.  In 2007, he founded and served as president of Logistic Solutions Investment Group, a transportation and logistics company based in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.  He has been invited to speak at numerous international business conferences around the world including in: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Montreal, Canada; Victoria BC, Canada; and Miami, United States. 

 

Dorfman
Anne Dorfman, J.D.

Anne Dorfman worked as a legal and business journalist, and news writer for many years, including jobs at the San Francisco Daily Journal, Court TV and Bloomberg Radio. She then taught Legal English and an Introduction to the U.S. Legal System at Humboldt University’s Language Center and Law School in Berlin. Anne currently teaches Legal English at the Language Center at the Université Paris II Panthéon-Assas in Paris and at American University’s Washington School of Law in Wash., D.C.  She also freelances for American Lawyer Media’s New Jersey Law Journal and Connecticut Law Tribune, and works as a copy editor and proofreader for various clients in Germany and the U.S. Anne earned a B.A. in history from the University of California, Berkeley, and a J.D. at Hastings College of the Law. She is a member of the State Bar of California.

 

Tania Garcia-Millan, J.D.Tania

Tania Garcia-Millan earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Boston University and a Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School. Ms. Garcia-Millan is licensed to practice law in New York and New Jersey. After practicing law in the public and private sectors for five years in the United States, she joined the United Nations, Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean in Santiago, Chile where she specializes in international law, international trade law and regional integration. She is a frequent author of articles and books on these issues. Ms. Garcia-Millan is a native speaker of Spanish and English and conversational in French and Portuguese.
